Flashback on 2014. As part of Barcelona’s Tricentenary commemorations, architect Benedetta Tagliabue and set designer for La Fura dels Baus, Àlex Ollé, have come together to create seven “ephemeral” architectural interventions in some of the city’s most emblematic places. These artistic installations propose reflection on the themes of identity, liberty and democracy.
One of them was an installation done in Ciutadella Parc: “El muro de la Ciutadella”. 67 meters long and between 4 y 7 meters high, it represents from one side the antic Barcelona walls, and on another side the actual walls of the city. The graffiti artists Aryz, Sixe Paredes, SAN y Jorge Rodríguez Gerada were invited to paint one side, while the other coordinated by Xavier Ballaz, was left to local urban art collectives as Difusor, Wallpeople, y Rebobinart.
